As the last day of 2018 is here I sit here and reflect back on what a year its been and goals/things I wanted to complete. In short my goals in 2018 were simply spend more time in nature, bring more yin yoga classes to the community, and spend more time with family and friends BUT all with practicing true presence and mindfulness…I’m talking about limited phone presence, unless I was taking photos, more eye contact and truly listening rather than waiting to talk.

My top 10 notables of 2018:

  • Coping with major changes at work (new team/boss, new building, new systems/processes).

  • Running The Yin Side Series workshops twice (Winter & Fall). Spreading my love of yin yoga.

  • Developing Yin + Massage and bringing it to the Calgary yoga community five times (once free for a photoshoot), and I can’t wait to do more!

  • Participated in more yin yoga training bringing me up to 85+ hours training in yin yoga (traditional style).

  • Collaborated in the yoga community - yin and massage and editing yoga manuals for a senior teacher in the Calgary community.

  • Hiking and getting out to the mountains 10x and overall getting outside to be in nature, even city parks.

  • Diving more into photography. Nature photography, flowers, landscapes too! Oh and still love taking yoga shots.

  • Gaining a domain in June and finally launching a website. I know I know it’s the last day of 2018, but sometimes slow progress/growth is best!

  • Spending more time with my mom.

  • Travels - Trip to Kelowna with my partner, trip to Toronto with my family and Banff with friends.

I can’t wait for what 2019 will bring. 2018 was definitely a wonderful year for growth, challenge, nurturing myself and loads and loads of fun times with family and friends.

This blog is a piece of my heart…

If you’re still reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to sharing more.

Until next time my yogis…

Namaste,

Marzena
